New Book!

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 5, 2007, 11:27 AM
  • Mood: Mesmerized
  • Listening to: Rammstein - but it effects me like a lullaby
  • Reading: Armour of Contempt! Finally!!
  • Watching: Prison Break, Dr. House, CSI- same every week
  • Playing: God of war II
  • Eating: ... nothing
  • Drinking: ... no comment
Finally - I have something new to read. That's not entirely true. I read David Gemmells 'Shield of Thunder' in the meantime. It wasn't as great as book one and took it's time in the beginning, but later ... yeah Gemmell as I love him.
No one can kill supporting actors that heart-breaking :cries:.

Now I'm curious what the next mission of the Ghosts is about ^^.

Never heard of the title myself, would you recommend it? On a side note, good to see your a fan of Rammstein and GoW 2.

Hey!! I missed your comments! Since your 'dream-journal' I hadn't wrote you (is this correct english?? - ah whatever ^^).
Which book do you mean? 'Shield of thunder'? If that's so than: Yes, I would recommend it! Absolutely! But you should begin with the first book 'Lord of the silver bow' or you don't get the whole story and especially the characters. AND you should like the setting, because most of the plot takes place in Troja (oh yeah history and mythology at it's best). It describes the beginning of the war and maybe in book 3 what happend afterwards (not yet read, comes next year ^^).
I shouldn't admit that, but at the end of book one I cried. It was so sad ...

To the side note: GoW2 was really 'funny'. Somehow a very good game to reduce frustration. And that sound! I love the soundtrack.
And since last week I hear my Rammstein-CD on my way to work again. Strange enough it could not prevent me from getting tired. Maybe because I memorize all songs already ^^' (or I should sleep more). You too hear Rammstein? I like their sound.

I'll keep an eye out for them during my holiday within the Christmas break as they sound interesting. That is once I've finished reading the other two books I'm halfway through (i'm lazy). GoW 2 on the other hand does have an excellent sound track and makes it all the more fun to gash and slash mythical beast. It's just a shame that every game these days has to feature the Simon say's button combo technique, although Shenmue on the dreamcast did it first.

I do like Rammstein but it's been awhile since I listened to one of their albums. Maybe for old times sake.

Yeah for old times sake. Sounds good. I first had to search for my CD (somewhere in my car!) and wipe the dust off it.

Oh I (for my part) hate those quick-time-events. I don't know how often I died agains Zeus just because you get instantly killed if you make a mistake!! ARG! That's not fair.
Shenmue ... oh that's long ago. You're right. I think it really was the first game with these technique.

You read two books at the same time? (Okay, I know someone who's reading everyday a different book - I couldn't do that)

You sure get entertained well with the books. Hope you tell me our opinion about them ^^.

Defiantly for old times sake *shuffles through stupid large amount of CDs*.

Quick time just becomes such a bore once you played it in one game. Doing it again in a sequel or another title just feels repetitive and boring, in the end you just want to let Kratos or who ever die for having to deal with it again and again.

As for the books, it's an on and off sort of thing. I just switch when I'm either curious or bored of the book that I'm reading at the point in time. Come Christmas I'll be switching for a ridiculous amount of them.

I'll keep my eye out on those titles when the sales hit me like a sledge hammer to the nuts.
